About Me

I have been an early childhood professional for 13 years, starting my in-home family child care in 1997. When I started I planned to just "babysit" a couple kids for some extra income so I could stay home with my own kids. It wasn't long before I realized that I was doing more than "babysitting" and I began the licensing process and became a licensed family child care in 1999.

After that I went back to school and earned an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, as well as the Wisconsin Professional Infant and Toddler Credential. I also got involved in local and state child care associations and currently sit on the boards of the Wisconsin Family Child Care Association, my local Resource and Referral, and a small local association for EC professionals. I have been an intern site for the early childhood programs at both the high school and college in my town.

Over the years I have made many items for the children, as well as organizational items for myself. A few years ago I decided to start selling some of these items and now enjoy attending early childhood conferences as an exhibitor as well as an attendee. I opened an Etsy.com shop to widen my market and branched out a little into some other items as well. I really do have fun making and sharing my items.

I also present early childhood workshops, along with my mom, who also has an in-home child care and we are available for trainings around Wisconsin and the surrounding states. Possible trainings include Organize Schmorganize...Just Do It!, Around the World - Travelling the Globe with Young Children, Literacy Through the Year Make-and-Take, and seasonal make-and-takes. If your organization is looking for continuing education opportunities we would be happy to present for you! Send me an email to ask about our fee schedule.
